AUSTRALIAN POLITICS.
THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT,
(Received 9.35 a.m.) Melbourne, December 14. The ‘Argus’ and ‘Age’ hotly attack the Federal Government for having rejected the New South Wales redistribution scheme. The papers charge the Government with an electoral injustice for party purposes. The ‘Argus’ says it is the lowest mark yet touched in Australian politics. The ‘Age’ characterises it as a sordid piece of business.
