A LIMITED SUPPLY

The report of the Kauri Timber Company shows that there was a not profit of £59,519; a sum of £23,179 was brought forward, making a total of £82,698, appropriated thus: Reserve £IO,OOO, amount of dividend at 9 per cent. £52,650, carrying forwaul £20,048. The company may gradually shift their field of operations from New Zealand, the report states, in view of limited opportunities -of obtaining further kauri forests in New Zealand, and in pursuance of its declared policy of extending the life of the company, the directors have purchased assets in Australian jarrah sawmills, and are hopeful of the purchases being a material factor in the desired direction.
