SHAME UPON ENGLAND.

Sir George Reid (High Commissioner for the Australian Commonwealth), addressing the British Empire League said, “Shame upon England,” when he saw what the Dominions were doing for defence, that the Territorials were short of the requisite number. The Hon. T. Mackenzie (High Commissioner for New Zealand), detailed the success of compulsory military training in New Zealand, despite the outcry of the minority.
