The Sunday School Anniversary services oi the Broadway Cnnrcii will be held to-morrow evening. Mr J. 15. lime, M.P., will preside. Full stocks of the well-known “Per- ' fectiou” brand of Scotch whisky arc now obtainable at all hotels, the recent scarcity being due to the great demand that has been made upon it. Tlie Cash Tailoring Company have a replace advertisement in this issue of interest to those requiring suits. Two first-class town cows, guaranteed sound (second culvers) are advertised for sale Applications for the position of caretaker of tiie Stratford Mountain House (married couple) are dvertised to close at noon on Saturday, I4th instant. Messrs Gillies and Nalder advertise their Hawera stock sale, which takes place on Thursday. Particulars of Messrs. Gillies and Nalder’s Eltham cattle sale appear in
another column. Mr Newton King will hold his usual .dock sale at his Stratford saleyards to-morrow. Entries appear elsewhere. Twenty to thirty acres of ploughing and sowing work is advertised to let. Mr T. A. \V. Nicholson, in a notification in another column, referring to the fact tliat he has taken over the well-known chemist’s business lately carried on by Mr E. 15. Stolir, intimates that lie lias landed a large stock of special goods for Christmas presents, and that his prices are altogether reasonable.

Spence is confronted with the huge task of converting into money a large portion of his stock within a short time. His tenancy of this shop expires on November 30th, and as the new tenants take possession on December Ist, there is only a limited time left to get out.. No other suitable premises are available at the present time so Mr. Spence has no alternative but to endeavour to realise. He has determined to hold a great clearance sale, which commences on Saturday next, 16th inst. Mr. Spence says the goods must be sold, however great the-sacri-fice may be. s
