From a national • standpoint, seeing that they come prominently before the public eye, it was desirable to send men who realise the responsibilities of the position, and would bo a credit to Australia. The Tall Mall Gazette’ states that English cricketers noted with' surprise the cl Up'ay of ill-temper in the field, particularly in regard to one cricketer, but it was felt that Gregory was more distressed over it than anybody, and little notice was taken. “We certainly never heard of ostracism,” continues the paper.
