It is estimated that, despite the rainy weather experienced on Cup and Derby days, the V.R.O. will make a profit of £19.000 over the spring meeting at Flemington. Tho club will no doubt shortly have to go in for extensive improvements in the way of providing still further accommodation for its patrons; but, even so. there must be every probability of stakes being again increased in value next season. Tiraillemount, a three-quarter brother to Tirailenr (who won tho- New Zealand Cup for Mr. S, H. Gollan in 1889), was sold out of tho Waipawa pound last week for 9s Cd.
