DEFENCE OF THE EMPIRE.
THE INDIAN OFFER. GROTESQUE AND IMPOSSIBLE. (Received 8.0 a.m.) London, December 2. The Times Delhi correspondent states that the Government are unaware of the offer; certainly there had been no concerted action, though, possibly, an individual chief made the suggestion. Such a large contribution was grotesque and impossible.
