THE WOOL SALES. Melbourne, November 29. At the wool sales, competition was keen and well distributed. The high prices of the earlier part of the week were well maintained towards the close in sympathy with the London sales, which failed to fully realise expectations. Bidding showed irregularity, and the withdrawals were somewhat heavy. Finer sorts, however, showed a strong demand. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. • Sydney, November 29. The potato market is bare. The attendance also was considerably affected by the weather, few buyers being present, and competition was quiet, but after the sale practically the whole of the yarding, with the' exception of the dairy cattle, was cleared as follows:—15 month grade Jersey heifers £4 to £4 2s, yearling hulls £1 to £2 6s, bulls for canning from £3 3s to £5 Is, 24 year steers (with a bit of colour) £4 10 s, empty. 24 year coloured heifers £4 15s to £5 2s 6d, grades £4 5s to £[ 11s, fat cows £5 10s to £6 7s Gd, good store cows £3 13s 6d to £4 12s Gd, small stores £2 6s 6d to £2 3s, springing heifers £6, dairy cows £6 10s, 3 to 34 year bullocks £6 12s 6d.
