CYCLING. Hobart, November 29. Fred Keefe broke the world’s cycling record for a hundred miles unpaceu out and home, covering the distance in 4 hours 50 minutes 17 seconds. Meredith (England) held the previous record of 4 hours 52 minutes 51 seconds. BOXING. GISBORNE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Gisborne, November 29. Bantams. —Davis heat Dooling. Feather-rveights: M. Sutherland beat Fryer. Light-weights : Frank O'Connell beat Fruere. Middle-weights: Richardson heat Cate, and announced that he was willing to fight any amateur in New Zealand at ivelter weights for six rounds. Heavy-weights: Groan defaulted to V. Lowe. The welterweight professional championship of New Zealand for a purse of £7O, including expenses, ivas included in the programme. Truscott, the challenger (Australian), gained a victory from Holder (Wellington) in the third round on a foul. The principals were just warming to their work. Truscott had done all the leading and was particularly succesfsul at close quarters. The referee had no option hut to award a foul on account of a low blow.
