Webb, an electrician, was found electrocuted in the tramway power house. Apparently .he was raising his head and inadvertently touched an eleven thousand volt wire.
Sydney, November 26. The Council rejected tiro Coal Minos Eight Hours’ Bill. A fierce thunderstorm, with torrential rain and immense hailstorms, swept a narrow belt of the eastern suburbs to-day. Hundreds of windowswere broken and roofs damaged. There were severe losses by flooding. Melbourne, November 27. Mr Tudor says that he has definite information that the American Beef Trust is starting operations _in Australia almost immediately. Enquiries confirm the statement. The Trust has obtained a site on the Brisbane River. The official view is that the Trust will he able to work in with the interstate shipping companies, hut not on such favourable conditions as in America.
Judging is proceeding as we go to press. The championship for Jersey bull was awarded to Mr W. V. Harkness’s Bezel’s Sultan, and the icseivo champion to Messrs A. and J. O Donnell’s Rainbow.
