Snoep.—River Plate, heavy 4 1-16.1; all others and lambs unchanged. Beef.—New Zealand, fores ‘2 15-I6d, hinds 3§d; Australian, fores 213-16 d, hinds 31d; South American, frozen fores 2|d, hinds 3fd, chilled fores 3)4, hinds 41a. HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. Wellington ,November 25. The following is the High Commissioner’s cablegram, under date London November 23 (quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot): — Mutton. —The market is steady, with a very good dc mand ior best quality. A great number of stale carcases of mutton are being placed on the market. There is no change in prices—viz., Canterbury 4|d, North Island 4Jd There is a prospect of an advance on account of fresh River Plate sell.ng at 4d to 4RI. Lamb.—There has been no alteration in the market since last week, and there is a limited demand. There is some very good quality amongst the new arrivals of Australian. Canterbury sgd, other than Canterbury oj|d. _ Beef.—There arc signs of an improvement on the market. There is a moderate supply of chilled, New Zealand hinds 3j}d, fores 2|d. Butter. —The market is very depressed. Buyers are holding hack, 'i he average price for the week tor choicest New Zealand was H4s to 116 s, Austin-, liau ills, Argentine 100 s, Danish j2‘Js Siberian 1275. A shipment of butter and cheese arrived in good condition by tne Ccrinthic. . , Cheese.—The market is dull, with less demand. The average price for tne week for finest New Zealand was 61 Is to 6 is. . Hemp.—The market is depressed, on account of advices from Manila of heavy receipts and speculative operations. New Zealand good fair grade £32 to £32 10s, fair grade £3O 10s for all positions; fair current Manila, spot £32, forward shipment £33. The output from Manila ior the week was 38,000 bales. Wool.—The market is stronger. Current quotations tor Bradford tops: 36’s, low crossbreds, Is 3d; 40’s,‘ low crossbreds, Is 3.Vd ; 44’s, medium Ciossbreds, Is 4icl; 50’s, halfbreds. is 8d ; 56’s, quarfcerbreds, Is lid; 60’s, merinos, 2s 3ifd. Kauri Gum.—The market quiet, with no alteration in prices. Nothing was offered at Thursday’s sale. The stock on October 20th was 298 tons. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Sydney, November 25. There has been another fall of 4 s in butter, and }d a pound on cheese. THE WOOL SALES. Invercargill, November 20. It is expected that the catalogue for the first wool sales next Monday will comprise about 12,000 bales.
