RECORD YIELD OF MILK.

One morning’s milking in connection with the milking trials at the Dairy Show, London, produced a remarkable record in milk yield. Model Maid, a seven-year-old red and white Shorthorn cow, exhibited by Mr Jamet Shippy, Ohewton Keynsham, neat Bristol, gave 401bs of milk. The average is about 351bs, and anything above 40lbs is considered remarkable. Another Shorthorn cow, Southfield Nancy, a six-year-old roan, shown, by Mr J. W. Astley, West Marton, Skipton, Yorkshire ,yielded 45.8 lbs.
