IMPERIAL POLITICS.
(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.; (United Press Association.) London, November 20. Sir F. Banbury moved an amendment that payments for all Irish services .should not involve a charge upon the British taxpayer. This was negatived by 328 to 208, and the original resolution was carried by 318 to 207. A number of Liberals, including Messrs. Cathcart-Wason, Murray, McDonald, Munro, Gerguson and Pirie, are dis-' contented with the Irish finances. In order to placate the Liberals objecthig to the Irish Customs, the Government proposes to withhold from the Irish Parliament power to reduce taxation. Jn consequence of the delay in the Home Rule Bill, the Government has postponed the Mental Deficiency Bill ill next session.
