NATIVE LAND LAWS.

( (Per Press Association.) Dannevirke, November 12. The Chamber of Commerce last 0 evening passed a resolution approvingof a provision in the Native Land Laws Act, 1912, in the clause dealing with the investment in trust of twothirds of the money realised by the Government from the sale of native lands handed over to them for disposal, and urging that provision he extended to all lands sold by natives either to Europeans or the Government. The Chamber also discussed the position regarding the Tiratu Native Block, over which a proclamation now exists, but will he expiring in 18 months. A resolution was passed in- ; forming the Minister of Native Lands of a strong report current that speculators were dealing with the block with a view to purchase after the proclamation expired pand asking what steps had been taken by the Government to acquire the land.
