11l the Assembly the Hon Mr Hoi man (Attorney-General) introduced a Bill providing for wider and more stringent interstate action dealing w’ti wife deserters. There is one proviso that when offenders are under arrest they are compelled to work for tilth own maintenance, the balance of their pay going to satisfy the orders again?l them. NEW REFERENDA BILL

The now Referenda Bill provides for electors to vote separately on each question, and is not in the shape of one question as at the last election. An important addition seeks to provide Federal jurisdiction over unemployment.
