THE WHEAT MARKET,

The wheat market is inactive. La Plata reports that rain is damaging crops in some districts.

Report.
At the Haymarket on Saturday there was a full yarding of pigs and calves. There was also a large attendance. The enquiry for pigs was practically coplined to weaners. Calves were in good demand. I quote: Slips and weaners Ids 6d to £1 4s, backward and small sorts 7s 6d, stores medium £1 6s 6d to £1 9s 6d, good £1 11s to £1 13s, calves Is 6d to 19s. At the Mart.—Poultry : hens 1 s 5d to 3s Gd, roosters Is 9d to 2n 7d, ducks 2s to 2s 9d. Potatoes, table 12s cwt, seed potatoes (Up-to-Datcs) 8s 6d to 9s cwt, other sorts 7s to Bs, onions 3d lb. Furniture, drapery, and sundries at usual rates.
