(To tho Editor “Stratford Post,”) Sir, —Would you kindly allow me space in your valuable paper to say a few lines in reference to the Dunedin Presbytery interfering with the Canadian Cadets for their trip down the harbolir on the first day of the week, and resolving to send a letter to the Canadian Presbytery, regretting that a temptation was placed before them to break a divine institution. Several times my mind has been drawn to tho different churches finding fault with people for “Sunday breaking,” as they call it. 1 was brought up in the Homan Catholic Faith, and taught the- Catechism at a Homan Catholic school twice a week. In the Doctrinal Catechism, page 351, one of the questions is: “Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?” Answer: “Had she not such power, she Could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her. She coxdd not have substituted the observance of Sunday (the first day of the week) for the observance of Saturday (tho scVenth day of the week) a change for which there is no scriptural authority.”
I ask the public, is there any scriptural authority? If there is-no ■ hint in the Bible about keeping ; Sunday holy, what right have the churches to interfere? Every individual ha£ a right to keep Sunday as he or she thinks fit. It is a law of the land not to do any work in sight of a public place, but what about the trams and trains running, etc. The Government who summoned a Chinaman for working in his garden when it was making money by men running trains etc. is very one-sided. I agree with ministers interfering where they have good reason and foundation to, but I am sure they have no right to interfere with how people keep Sunday. To make this a short discussion, I will give £lO to the Stratford Hospital or to any minister .in the Dominion if they can quote one text from the Holy Bible authorising the sanctification of Sunday.

I have no ill feeling, against any church since leaving. the Roman Catholic Church.
