THE CANADIAN CADETS.

AT CHRISTCHURCH. (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, November 3. The Canadian Cadets were taken for a tram ride to Cashmere Hills this morning, and were addressed bv Mr Geo. T. Booth, chairman of the Tramway Board, whose, guests the Cadets were. Captain Davy, replying said that they were all glad to have so good an opportunity of seeing so much of “God’s Own Country.” It seemed to ho characteristic of the Now Zealand people to try to kill their visitors by kindness. Then, ho was glad to, say that the people seemed more considerate to them and remembered the great' spell of banquets and entertainments they had behind them in the south, and it would be the same in the north when they went up the big river and to the hot lakes. Ho did not think they appreciated or understood bow much all appreciated the opportunity to get out and see something of the country. It gave them a much hotter idea of the land than being hedged in in a crowded banqnetting hall. In the afternoon the Cadets went to the C.J.C. race meeting.
