LONDON MARKETS
London, November 2. Rabbits are a shade easier owing to large English supplies. Lambs.—Canterbury, heavy 5 1-161. Beef.—Australian, forequarters, 2pi; hindquarters, 3|d; others unaltered.
Wheat is quiet. Australian cargoes are held at late rates, and otaers have declined by 3d.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date 31st ult.:—Sheepskins: “Merino and fine crossbred sheepskins are slightly dearer. The market is firm for others.”
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. Wellington, November 4. The High Commissioner’s cable under date London, November 2 states: Butter.—The market is weakening with signs of decline and less demand. The supply is plentiful. Buyers are holding back expecting prices to go lower. Danish 130 s, Siberian 100 s, Australian 1295, Argentine 1295. Cheese.—The market is unsettled and prices irregular. The supply of English is large. Canadian white 635, coloured 645.
