THE WHEAT MARKET. (By Electric Telegraph .—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) London, October 29. Wheat-.—Market very dull; 39s 6cl to 40s is asked for Australian .December to January shipment. Newton King’s Stratford Weekly Report. At the Hay market on Saturday last there was a medium entry of pigs and calves, and also a fair attendance. 4 he enquiry for p : gs was strong, and prices throughout wore firm, every pen being cleared at the hammer. Calves were in good demand. Quotations: —Slips and weaners 10s, 14s, 17s Gd to £1 Js 6d, the latter price was for a pen of 8 weeks’ old weaners, stores £1 5s Gd to £1 10s, p.b. hoars £2 2s Gd to £2 4s Gd, calves 2s Gd to 15s, milk dray £lO, set harrows £3 10s. At the Mart.—Poultry: Hens Is 9d to 2s sd, roosters 2s to 3s Gd, geese ss, potatoes 8s Gd to i2s cwt., seed potatoes Up-to-Date 8s Gd to 9s cwt., White' Elephants 6s Gd to 7s cwt., quantity furniture, drapery and sundries at prices in favour of buyers.
