BRIDAL PARTY ATTACKED. Beyrouth, September 9. A few miles from Sidon si.' Turkish soldiers arc stationed to watch over the safety of the travelling public. A young Christian couple, 1 ota under 20, were going to Sidon to get married. Two lads formed the only company of the pair. Arriving at the place where the soldiers are stationed, they were preiented by the latter from proceeding any farther, on the plea that that were going to America (em.gva tion to America ‘is not officially prohibited). The soldiers led the girl to a distant point “to interrogate her,” and there attacked her, treating her with great brutality. The poor, unfortunate girl was rendered unconscious, and another member of “Uc party was seriously assaulted. I t i,reported that the girl died, and time her hethrothed husband committed suicide. The culprits were arrested.
