The fight was stopped and awarded to Midwood. BOWLING. Delegates to the Taranaki Bowling Association will moot in the New Plymouth Club’s pavilion on November 7 for the pin-pose of making arrangements for the tournament meeting. ATHLETICS. The first round of matches under the auspices of the Auckland Cricket Association concluded to-day. The weather was dull and showery. Univers'ty defeated Parnell by five wickets, a three points win. Ponsonhy heat North Shore by one wicket, and Eden beat Grafton by 136 runs on the first innings. The chief scores for the afternoon were Sneddon 51, Collins 01 (not out), and Cavanagh 61, all of the Ponsonhy Club.
