BRITAIN OUT ON HER OWN. London, October 26. Mr L. V. Harcourt, in a speech at Rossendale, said that Britain was determined to rely on her own forces in the Mediterranean, irrespective of alliances or any other understanding. LORD ROBERTS’ SPEECH. Mr Runiciman, speaking at Elland, said that Lord Roberts’ speech attacking Germany was deplorable, pernicious, and dangerous. He hoped that if it was resented in Germany, she would know that it was equally resented in England.
