WRECK OF THE HAWERA.
ON THE PATEA SPIT. (Per Press Association.) "Wellington, October 28. Word was received yesterday that the coastal steamer Hawera, 200 tons, was ashore at Patca. She is lying on the southern spit, and suffering considerable damage by the south-westerly roll. It is believed her sides have opened. She is .a practically now vessel, and is owned by the South Taranaki Shipping Company.
