WINTRY WEATHER GENERAL. (Per Press Association.) Danncvirke, October 26. Dannevirke is plunged back to winter. Three and a-half inches of rain have fallen during the last three days. Last night was very boisterous, with a heavy,hail storm, and the mountains and low-lying hills round the township are liberally coated with snow. Wellington, October 26. Rain, which had been threatening all the morning, started shortly before 11 o’clock, and it will seriously affect the attendance at the races and local sports. Dunedin, October 26. Heavy snow fell throughout the Lakes District which will have a disastrous effect on lambs. Carterton, October 26. The weather is bitterly cold and enow is thick on the mountains.
