OBITUARY.
WILLIAM WILSON McCADDLE. (Per Press Association.) s Pahiatua, October 23. The death occurred at an early houi this morning of Mr Wi/.iam Wilson McCardle, Mayor of Pahiatua. Deceased was the second son of the Hon. W. W. ,McCardle, M.L.C., and aged 44 years. He had been in ill head h for the past year, and underwent two serious operations-, the last one recently in Sydney. He was in has third term as mayor, and had been a member of the borough council for over fen years. He was largely instrumental in establishing the municipal swimming baths in the town a- d no beautifying lie town. He was & m-moer of the a Irani pa Hospital Beard, v ‘.ci-president cf the Pahiatua Racing Cmb and Woodlands Hunt i.'lub, founder of ! lio Fahiatua Rifle Club, formerly an officer in the Pahiatua Mounted Rifles, a committeeman of the A. and P. Association, Justice of the Peace, and uas recently presented with a testimonial and purse of sovereigns in recognition of his services to the district. He loaves a widow and a familv of seven
