PRIMITIVE METHODISTS.

TARANAKI DISTRICT SYNOD. The annual district synod in connection with the Primitive Methodist Church in Taranaki was opened this morning at 10.30 in the Broadway Church. The Rev. B. Metson presided. Delegates were present from Wanganui, Eltham, Stratford, East Eg■mont, Inglewood, and New Plymouth. After the opening ceremonies the following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Chairman, Rev. S. Bailey ; vice-chairman, Mr R. Peppered; secretary, Rev. F. Frost; assistant secretary, Mr E. T. Bliss; letter writer, Rev, J. Charteris. The membership returns for the district showed that there was an increase of five members for the year, bringing the total to 402. Routine business occupied the attention of the Synod during the after-: noon.
