It was expected that the initial consignment of refinery plant, comprising 167 tons, for the Taranaki (New Zealand) Oil Wells, Ltd,, would arrive at New Plymouth by boat to-day. The new rotary derrick at Moturoa is being put into place, and the machinery for it will arrive in. a few days, having already reached Wellington. Good progress is being made with the drilling at Bell Block. A quantity of material for the refinery, including 34,000 fire-bricks, will be landed at the breakwater from the Taviuni. Large numbers of sight-seers continue to visit the works at Moturoa. ' Commencing on Monday night at 7.30 o’clock, No. 2 boro displayed great activity, perhaps as great as it has ever showed since it commenced to flow. The pressure continued throughout yesterday and at a late hour last night (says the News) was unabated, quantities of oil and silt being thrown by the well to a considerable height.
