A MOTOR MISHAP.

Another had motor smash occurred on Friday afternoon (reports the ‘Mali a watu Standard’), resulting in severe injuries to Mr. James Hall, of the firm of Half.and Jones, cycle agents, Palmerston. When riding a motorcycle up Amount Stewart, between Palmerston and Sandon, he collided with a mnfhr-’car drived, ''by Mr. W. Wood, of Wanganui, and containing two passengers —a lady and a gentleman. The car waS negotiating a difficult part of the road adjacent to the danger-post, and it was not until too late to avert an accident that the driver was aware of the approach of the motor cyclist, who had taken the right-hand side of the road in order to avoid some metal. The impact was violent, and Air. Hall sustained grave injuries to his chest. Ho was attended by Dr. Hall,' of Feilding, and was conveyed by Air. Wood, in his car, to the Palmerston Hospital, whore lie lies in a very serious condition.
