V.A.T.C. MEETING
WIN FOR LADY MEDALLIST. Caulfield, October 16. Delightful weather favoured the second day of the V .A.T.C. meeting. The course had been drenched with rain since Saturday, and was in splendid condition. There ’was a good -attendance. Results: — Emo Hurdle Race, Two miles.— Home Rule, 10.11, 1; Bob Gilder, 11.1 2; Common King, 11.3, 3. Ten others started. Won by a length and a hall, with four lengths between second and third. Wimmera was fourth stud Monton a bad last. Time, 3min 47isec. Mona Handicap, four furlongs. Arndel, 7.11, 1; (Jhica, 7.9, 2; Ordinill, 8.7, 3. Twenty-one others started.. Won by a short neck, with han a> neck between second and third, linns Eclipse Stakes, one mile and threefurlongs.—Lady Medallist, 1; Moe, 2; Flavian. 3. Kavnattau, Bobidna, VV ilari and Avcnwort also started. At the mile post Avomvort slightly Jed Moe, followed by Karnattan. Half a mile from home Moo took charge from Lady Medallist, Bobadea and luv ion. At this stage Wilari broke a. blood vessel and retired, hlivian putling in a fast run. Lady Medallistheaded* him at the distance, and won comfortably by a length and a hall from Moo, 'with Flavian k halt a length away. Bobadea was fourth, and then came Karnattan and Avouworb. Time, 2min 22fsec. Corinthian Plate* one mile.—-ler-Chief, 11 ."I, 1; Blind Harry, 2- Royal Fleet, 11.9. 3. Seven others started. Won easily by throe quarters (/ f a length, with four lengths between second and third.
