(Per Press Association.) Auckland, October 15. The insurances "on the Palmerston Street buildings (the top flat of which was gutted) were £17,000 in the Guardian Office. The English and Foreign Piano Company’s stock was badly damaged by water, the insurances being £7600 in.the.United. Wool■idge and Baughan were insured for £350 in the Atlas—a total loss; Schmidt for £3OO in the Atlas—a total loss. ; k, Auckland, October 15.
The general labourers’ -strike continues, the strikers adopting the usual tactics to convert the men engaged in various works to strike, which is confined to about 400 men who went put yesterday.
