Choicest goods continue to lie rather scarce, and for this quality prices are bound to remain firm, and possibly advance shortly. Weather co editions continue bad, much rain falling, with the nights very cold. Telegrams from Copenhagen yesterday indicate that the market there continues dull. The quotation has again not been officially declared. Danish and Swedish. —The arrivals this week show a decrease of 1180 casks. There has been a slightly bet-' ter feeling, and prices generally show ■an improvement of about Is per cwt. A fair clearance has boon effected. Choicest quality 128 s to 129 s. Siberian. —The arrivals this week are again smaller, totalling about 12,000 casks. Perfect quality meets with a very good enquiry at 10 Is up to 108 s. Secondary descriptions are very plentiful, and it is with extreme difficulty that sales can ho made, the demand at the moment being very poor. Prices for this grade range from 92s to 100 s, according to quality. The market remains very firm in Siberia, no change being reported. French.—Notwithstanding the recent official reductions, the demand shows no improvement, and in view of the fact that it is anticipated there will lie a large autumn make in France, the opinion is expressed that values must come down still further. Prices to-day are: Extra mild Ills to 118 s, Paris’baskets 110 s to 120 s, finest 110 s to 112 s, good to fine 104 s to 100 s, inferior 94s to 100 s. • Irish Creamery.—Quantity coming forward continues to he fairly large. The demand during the past few days has shown a decided improvement, and, in consequence, prices have advanced Is to 2s per cwt.- Strictly choicest salted creamery is now worth 115 s to UGs, with choicest unsalted UGs to 1J 7s, exceptionally 118 s. There is still a considerable quantity of faulty goods coming forward ; these are pressed for sale at irregular prices—loos no to 108 s. Colonial Butters—Australian: There has lieoii a small arrival this week per s.s. Otway. The demand has been rather disappointing. Finest meets with only a fair enquiry at 108 s, 110 s, up to 112 s, Saltless continues to ho rather scarce, and any choicest on offer readily commands 112 s to Il ls. Secondary descriptions are almost unsaleable, even although holders are willing to meet buyers’ ideas. We quote 98s up to 104 s. New Zealand: There are a few small lots offering at present; prices for these being 120 s to 1225.
