(Received 1.50 p.m.) San Francisco, October 10. Air Starr Johnson, addressing JiCland Stanford University students, paid a high tribute to the Australians as footballers. Ho said the Australians played solely for the love of the sport, and Americans had much to learn in this respect. Stanford in 1903 adopted Rugby in preference to American football, believing it cleaner sport, and wisdom of such an action had since been proved.
