The Government Meteorologist (Rev. D. C. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows; Indications are for easterly winds veering to north and freshening. Indications for temporary improvement but mild and hazy conditions. Weather clouding over, rain later. Barometer unsteady, and fall after 24 hours.
