Edward Clark, business agent for the International Bridge and Structural Jrou Workers, pleaded guilty on fifty-five counts of conspiring in connection with the national investigation of the dynamite outrage. Forty-five other trade unionists are awaiting trial.
Sir George Reid spent four days in Washington, meeting the British Ambassador and Mr Barrett, of the PanAmerican Union. Ho was entertained at lunch by the Chamber of Commerce and spoke of the Australian and American relations.

A debate took place in the House of Commons on the new Board of Trade regulations arising out of the Titanic disaster. Lord Borcsford said the first- necessity was to increase ships’ flotahility and he deprecated the Board interfering with the design of ships. Mr Sydney Buxton, President of the Board in 1910, said they could not depend solely on flotahility and must insist on approved life-saving appliances sufficient- for all on board. Shipowners unnecessarily feared, the effect of the rules with regard to stability.
