THEFT, BREAKING AND ENTERING.
PRISONERS SENTENCED. (United Press Association.) Wellington, October 2. Four prisoners were sentenced by the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) to-day. > Clarence Percival Wells, a young man who had admitted charges of theft and breaking and entering at Foxton, was ordered to be sent to Invercargill for,-,,reformative treatment for twelve months. Ralph Balcombe, on a charge of breaking and entering and theft, was similarly dealt with. For theft from the person at Masterton, George Alfred Smyth was sen- , fenced to a month’s imprisonment with hard labour.
Charles Clement Fish, formerly messenger in Parliament Buildings, was sentenced to eight months on charges of theft.
