Owen Handicap.—Makara 1, f iriwai 2. Prosper 3. Scratched: Equitas. Won Easily. Time, Imin 18 1-osec. Railway' Hack. —Semaphore 1, Locku-ood 2, Avaunce 3. Scratched: Silver Rose. Won by a length. Time, Imin 18 4-osec. Brunswick Hurdles.—Hawick 1, Coronotted 2, Sandy Paul 3. All started. Won easily. Time, 2min 53 4-ssec. Hack Hurdles.—Fashion Plate 1, Aviation 2, Timothy 3. All started. Won by a length. Time 2min 52 4-ssec.
AVOMDALE RACES. Auckland, September 28. The concluding day of the Avondalo races was cold and squally, but there was a large attendance. Results:— Hurdles'.—To Whareroa 1. Miss Explosive 2, Stroller 3. Scratched :. Ambergris. Won comfortably by two lengths. Time, 3min Bisec. . President's Handicap.—Takumu 1, Waiorcwa 2, Goadwin Sands 3. Scratched: Lucille and Cloudy Dawn. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 20sec. Avondale Guineas.—Blcriot 1, Prince Soult 2, Semolina 3. Also started: Morriwee, Monorail, General Drouct, Tact, and Lavinia. The winner led practically all the way, and won by a length arid a half. Time, lmin 51 3-5 sec.
