SPRING SHOW.
STRATFORD HORTICULTURAL , SOCIETY. This afternoon the Stratford Horticultural Society's Spring Show was opened in the Foresters' Hall. Though the weather has been right against exhibitors there is a splendid exhibit of cut blooms, and the decorative section is well patronised. Among the collection displayed is a selection for oxhibition only, of rockery plants, grown by Mr. P. Thomson. These dainty little plants attracteda groat deal of attention this morning when the exhibitors were arranging their entries. A magnificent display is that comprised by the collection of 25 daffodils, one yase of each variety, containing throe stems. In the other daffodil and narcissi classes there is also keen competition, and the display is an excellent one: All the prominent Stratford enthusiasts are well represented, and there are also quite l a number of New Plymouth, Inglewood, and southern exhibitors. It is safe to say that the Foresters' Hall never looked so entrancing as it does to-day with its tables loaded with masses of lovely blooms. The show should certainly not be missed, and this evening there will doubtless be a good attendance.
