COMPULSORY TRAINING.

(Per Press Association.) Pahiatna, September 25. The recent cable re tiio statements published in English papers concerning compulsory military training in New Zealand was discussed at a meeting of the local branch of honorary territorials last night, and the statements of anti-militarists wore strongly resented; The following resolution was carried unanimously: “That the attention of the Government bo drawn to letters on the subject of company training in the Dominion as appearing in the columns of the “Manchester Guardian” and, “Daily News,” and that this meeting desires the Government to give the true details to the British public; and that a copy of this motion bo forwarded to tuo Prime Minister.” _ - It was also decided that letters bo written to the “Manchester Guardian and “Daily News,” stating the true position of the Territorial movement in Now Zealand. It was also decided to request the (loputy-Mayor to call a. public meeting to consider the question of extending the invitation to the Canadian cadets' tb visit Palliatua. It is proposed if the invitation is accepted to extend every hospitality to the cadets. ; -
