FIRE AT FOXTON.

o ■ TWO SHOPS DESTROYED

Palmerston North, September 23

Another blaze occurred at Foxton yesterday morning, when two shops uere Completely destroyed, viz., Rimmer's store and a Chinese fruiterer's. Rammer's store was an old but large building and was ablaze when discovered. The fire soon spread to the Chinese shop and gutted the building^ Whyte's Hotel, which was menaced by the two previous fires was again in trouble, but though the walis were scorched and the windows cracked, no further damage was done. The insurances on Rimmer's store was C 250 in the New Zealand office and on the stock £750 in the same office: On Chung Wah's building £BSO in the South British, on the plate glass £3O in the South British and on the stock £6OO in the London and Lancashire. Total, £2IBO.
