AVaihi, September 23. Waikinb is quiob and orderly, find arbitfafcionists now unprotected by tho police proceed to work unmolested. Work at the smithy and other parts of the battery is proceeding. Trials of the machinery have taken place preparatory to resumption of crushing. A number of Federafcionists aen residing in the'hotel used by arbitrationists. Things are hardly so quiet outside Vvaikino when faction meets faction. At a mooting at Waitekauri attended by several members of both sides arguments arose with reference to the strike, and it is stated' fisticuffs were indulged in. With a few trifling exception;;, rendered necessary by local conditions, the rules of the Thames Miners' Union have been adopted by a union formed in Waikino and named the Ohinemuri Mine 'tntl Battery Workers' Union.
