THE CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING

The golf links at Horetaunga, wilier, were covered with water on Friday, dried up sufficiently on Saturday tc permit of the championship tournament being continued. The professional match was won I'j Butters. In the semi-final of the atna'.eui championship, Wood defeated K, Duncan easily, and Harold Wright defeated Arthur Duncan. Wright and Wood will contest the final on Monday. The following are the scores:— Amateur Championship. Third Round. A Duncan beat Harold, 3 up and 1 to play. K. Duncan beat H. Gillies. 7 up and

6 to play. H. Wright beat A. N. Kennedy, 3 up and 2 to play. B. B. Wood beat Goss, 3 up and 1 to play. / Semi-final. B. B. Wood (Christchurch) beat A. Duncan (Wellington), 2 up and 1 to play. Professional Championship. Semi-final. Simpson beat McEwan, 1 up. Butters beat Hood, 1 up. Final. Butters (Christchurch) beat Simpson (Miramar), 4 up and 2 to play.
