The Government Meteorologist (Rev. D. C. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows: — ■ . Winds veering ; southerly, heavy to gale; very stormy weather to bo expected. Storm appears to be approaching from the south. The weather will probably become very cold. Rain is probable, with snow on high country. Barometer rising fast.
