MOTOR CAR V. SPRING CART.

NO LIGHT COLLISION

A collision between a motor ear, anci a spring cart occurred" on Tuesday night somewhere about midnight, close to Mr Long's residence on the North Road (says the Waimate Witness). From what Ave can learn the motor was travelling at a moderate speed and the cart was on the wrong side of the road. The occupants further increased their guilt by showing no lights. There were two occupants of the cart, one of whom had his lip split and a tooth knocked out. The cart was also very badly injured, one wheel being taken off and the shafts badly smashed. The motor car also sustained serious dam'age. The whole thing resolves itself into, a question as to whether people should be allowed to drive blindly along the roads at night without lights.
