THE BUTTER MARKET.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, September 18. A total of 400 boxes, equivalent to 100 tons, of butter is to be shipped from Auckland by the stamr Turakina, which sails for London via Wellington on Friday. This will bo the first shipment of new season’s butter. Had space been available the shipment would have been much larger, but the demand for cargo room has had the effect of shutting out from this shipment between 300 and ‘IOO boxes. The first shipment last season totalled only 2583 boxes (1291 cwt). A regular supply of butter is now coming in fast, and with the amount held over after Friday’s shipment, a very large quantity will be available for the next exportation. This will bo sent by the Corinthic, which is to sail from Wellingtqn on October 3rd, and in order to connect with the steamer butter will be shipped coastwise at Auckland on September'2Bthc
