W.Y.M.I TENNIS CLUB.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. There was a fair attendance of members at the annua] meeting of the a.bove Club, held in. Messrs Jackson Eros.' office, last evening. The Committee reported on last year's work, stating that although, owing to the very bad Aveatlier a poor season was experienced, tlie balancesheet showed a good credit balance.
The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Rev. A. Reader; vice-presidents, Messrs Hy. Wilson, J. Masters, J. McAllister, H. J. Hopkins, It. Masters and W. S. Onto; secretary, Mr D. Everiss; Committee, 1 Messrs W. Everiss, C. Russ, and J. Schofield.
The Committee pointed out that the courts were very poorly attended to last season, and unless new arrangements were made, the Club membership would suffer accordingly. It was therefore decided to raise the annual subscription as follows: Men £1 Is, boys 15s, ladies 12s 6d, girls 7s 6d. -It was decided also to employ a caretaker to look after the courts during the coming season.. The suggestion to obtain a section in Victoria Park for the purposes of laying down new courts was discussed, but owing to insufficient information, no definite steps were taken, it was therefore decided to call another general meeting in the near future in
reference to this matter. Present indications point to a very successful season during 1912-13, and the opening day was fixed for October 31st.
