AMUSEMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY'S

All the world knows of Dr. Bernardo's' Homes in England for the poor, and every person in Taranaki has hoard of the celebrated pictures in Stratford. Well, to-night's bill is one of the best so far, and should not be missed. To-morrow evening (Thursday) a big change of pictures takes place, when "War's Havoc," Kalem's latest and best civil war picture, wdl l)e screened for the first time. The story is briefly this: The Battle of Sumter's fall interrupts the wedding of Captain Faulkner and Jennie MeFerson. The ceremony is completed, however, and the dashing Confederate makes for the front. A year later sees Faulkner's regiments in the vicinity of his old home. A railroad car of Federals is en routo to attack the camp, and by some strategy Faulk nor's wife and a negro woman get this news to the Confederates. She cuts the wires and shoots an operator who attempts to telegraph from a tree, but he has managed to give warning and tho Federals return.' Tho two take charge of an engine, and run it into collision with tho Federals' train, and save the day. As the sun go»? down the flag of the Confederates floats over the home, and Faulkner and his wife are happily re-united. Another reminder is given of Saturday afternoon's matinee. There are many films showing which will amuse and instruct young and old alike, and it is hoped the afternoon performance will get that big support which it deserves.
