AUCKLAND HOSPITAL

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, September 18

The Hospital Board, on the chairman's casting vote, resolved on 'the appointment of a medical superintendent to control the administrative work of the hospital, with a salary of £BOO. Applications will be invited in New Zealand and Australia. The Board appointed Miss Orr, matron of Taunton Hospital, as lady superintendent. FIRE. A five-roomed house on Arundale road, Remuera, owned by G. Parker, and occupied by James Laingen, was destroyed by lire last night. The house was insured for £IOO, and the furniture for £2OO in the South British office. It was a total loss.
