FEDERATION'S TRUMP CARD. "THE HEROES!" (Per Press Association.) Waihi, September Hi. A mass public meeting was held last night, when addresses were delivered by'iVlr. Parry (president) and Mr. McLennan (vice-president) and others, Mr. Parry contends that they had not received justice at the Court, as the word of a policeman was taken before that of honest miners. Ihe Federation had a trump card U P its sleeve, which it would play in due season.
A woman also addressed the meet ing, upholding the principle of goinj to gaol, and calling them heroes. O'Neill, one of those convicted ol assault on Saturday, produced sure ties this morning. Doll and Patriot Scbollard declined on principle to find sureties. The Magistrate again pleaded with defendants to reconsider their decision. The other cases are proceeding.
