The following facts might come as a surprise to dealers and breeders: Mrs. H. Ward, of Highbank, in tlio Ashburton County, has made a hobby of caring for pet ewes, and the records <>f six of them are as follow: "Norah" (aged 13 years), 20 lambs; "Brownie" /aged 12 years), 18 lambs; "Kathn" (aged 11 years), 18 lambs; ".lean" (aged 11 years), 9 lambs; "Stilly" (aged 11 years), 9 lambs; "Daisy" (aged eight years), 12 lambs. All of these animals have either ono or two lambs at foot at the present time. This probably constitutes a Dominion record, and shows the results that can be obtained by attention and care.
